Grant Eligibility Criteria

A solar electricity grant will help you install Solar PV panels in your home to generate renewable electricity. At SolarMode, we are Safe Electric registered electricians and SEAI accredited micro-generation installers and can walk you through the process of investing in solar energy for your home.

Who is eligible for Solar Electricity Grant?

  • All homeowners, including landlords, whose homes were built and occupied before 2021 can apply. This is defined as the date your electricity meter was installed. This is different to other grant measures where the home must be built before 2011.

  • Once your grant application is accepted and the grant is offered to you, it is valid for eight months.

PV Solar Panel Installation Grants

A 10 panel solar PV system on a south facing roof would generate approximately 4,000 units of electricity a year, which can save you €1,200 based on a cost of 30c per unit of electricity. A 16-panel system could save €1,900.

Payback on these systems is approximately 5 years.
